Question by todiebyyoursidelbc: Getting out of joining a union in California?
I’m a full time student who works less than 15 hours a week at a Drug Store in California. The local UFCW wants me to pay the same dues at the full timers, even though I’m not eligible for benefits. I would be paying them significant portion of my check just to keep working. Does anyone know, or has heard of a way to get out of joining a union in California? I’m aware that it’s not a right to work state, but I was hoping there’s a way around it.
