Should I get a masters degree in psychology and specialize in substance abuse counseling? Should I get a masters in counseling and specialize in substance abuse counseling? Or should should I get a masters in social work?

I think any of those are fine.. I’d go with either the psych or counseling with the specialization in substance abuse over social work. I think the main thing is to try and obtain a masters, most jobs require that in the psych/counseling field.

I want to do this for my childhood friend. I never really thought that he would turn out to be a drug addict since he was always the one who was always the rule follower. Goody-two-shoes, we called him. And now he has somehow rebelled from that image and just went and did drugs. I feel bad about this and I want to help him by finding him a drug rehab. I wish I knew how, though.
