Drug addiction treatment would be able to reduce the spread of AIDS/HIV because drugs users are more likely to get affected by such diseases. Treating drug addicts will definitely help. Studies have shown that those who inject drugs who do not let themselves get subjected to treatment are six times more liekly to get infected with HIV or AIDS, as opposed to those who let themselves get treated.

Drug addiction treatments cost much because a lot of factors are involved when treating a patient. Medication and payment for counseling and therapy costs much. But studies have shown that a full year of methadone maintenance treatment would cost a lot less than a year of imprisonment. Besides, this is someone’s life that’s on the line. What’s a thousand dollars compared to leading a sober, happy, addiction-free life?

In a nutshell, medications help a lot in drug addiction treatment. They help in suppressing withdrawal symptoms. Having symptoms of withdrawal is mainly what makes it hard for a patient to quit doing drugs on his own. Thus, medication that will be able to free the person from these symptoms would matter much. Another reason why medicines are needed for addiction treatment is because it brings the patient’s brain functioning back to normal. It also restores the body to its healthy state.

They take prescription drugs for medical purposes. But they affect them the same way that illegal drugs affect others. They take 35 every day. They are a nurse. They can give a medical justification for every one of them. But the way they react at different times makes me wonder. Their emotions go up and down. They have the same reactions as a drug addict.
